SouthPoint Financial Credit Union partners with InvestiFi to offer digital investing to its members

SouthPoint Financial Credit Union has partnered with InvestiFi, a leading digital investment solutions provider, to seamlessly integrate digital investing into their existing online banking platform.

SouthPoint Financial Credit Union will be using InvestiFi’s solutions to provide access to digital investing experiences to its 34,000 members across 30 counties in Minnesota. The credit union has eight full-service branches, including Sleepy Eye, Springfield, New Ulm, St. Peter, North Mankato, Hutchinson, Waconia, and Buffalo. It hosts $578M in assets and offers full-service banking, digital tools, merchant solutions, and investment services, while supporting local communities.

Jay Gostonczik, President and CEO of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union, said, “At SouthPoint, we pride ourselves in putting our members first, whether that be adding the perfect checking account for their finances or helping them put profit back into their business. We are excited to be joining forces with InvestiFi to offer digital investing from checking to our members. As digital currencies continue to spark the interest of our members, it is paramount that we take this vital step in supporting them as they start their digital investment journeys.”

“With the addition of InvestiFi’s guided investing and financial education, we will be able to support our growing community across Minnesota as they seek to test the waters with stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies on a safe and secure platform.”

The credit union will offer all three of InvestiFi’s solutions to its members. This includes Guided Investing, a robo-advisory solution designed to deliver portfolio options that align with members risk tolerance and interests. Members will also have access to self-directed investing through the InvestiFi platform, which will give them the ability to buy and sell 6,500+ stocks and ETFs, as well as 25+ cryptocurrencies and Stablecoins, delivering an easy to use, self-directed way for members to diversify their portfolios. By partnering with InvestiFi, every member will also gain access to a robust portal of financial education materials so investors can make confident, educated financial decisions.

Kian Sarreshteh, CEO of InvestiFi, stated: “We are excited to be partnering with SouthPoint to offer their members the opportunity to invest directly from their checking accounts.“Credit union members are increasingly turning to third-party investment apps like Robinhood and Coinbase, which diverts their funds and attention away from the credit union and leaves them with limited support. By bringing investing inside, Southpoint is offering its members a seamless digital investing solution in a familiar environment while simultaneously helping their institution to retain deposits and existing members while attracting new ones.”

“This partnership reflects a shared commitment to the financial wellness of credit union members and the demystification of digital investing. It comes at a vital time as crypto investment continues to grow following the signing of the Genius Act. SouthPoint is renowned for adopting an array of solutions to support its ever-growing membership, and InvestiFi aims to support these efforts by delivering a safe and secure digital investing experience for its members,” concluded Sarreshteh.
